Bring your own device

Rathmines Public School is proud to offer a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program for students in Year 3 to Year 6.

Students have the opportunity to bring their own iPad to school for the purpose of learning.

The BYOD program supports and enhances student learning across all areas of the curriculum and allows for more personalised, student centred learning. BYOD creates a learning environment that encourages our students in becoming self-directed learners, collaborative team players, critical and creative thinkers and ethical users of technology.

The Melbourne Declaration on the Educational Goals for Young Australians (MCEETYA 2008) recognises that in a digital age, and with rapid and continuing changes in the ways that people share, use, develop and communicate with information and communications technology (ICT), young people need to be highly skilled in its use.

BYOD assists students learn to use ICT effectively and appropriately to access, create and communicate information and ideas, solve problems and work collaboratively in all learning areas at school, and in their lives beyond school.

Apple offers special iPad and Mac pricing for students attending our school. This special pricing is available for purchases made at Apple Stores, through our school's customised online store or via the Apple contact centre. Find out more about the Apple Family Funded Program.
